Planner Basics – Top Three Things You Need

Planner Basics – Top Three Things You Need
One of the biggest questions that new Planner Babes have is, “What are the top things that I need?” This blog post is going to help you discover exactly what those top three things are.
The three things that you need as a Planner Babe is:

1. Your planner

2. A pen

3. You

That’s it. This list seems obvious, but Planner Babes can become overwhelmed by the community. Searching for planners on social media shows dozens of wonderful Planner Babes and all of the work that they do. Everything that’s seen in the photos of these planner spreads makes new Planner Babes feel that they need everything that’s shown. They forget that the purpose of a planner truly comes down to the basics. You don’t need fancy stickers and you certainly don’t need every insert ever created. All that is needed is you, a pen, and your planner. Before moving forward into the realm of creative planner spreads, take the time to learn and appreciate your planner at the very basics of what it is.
When Planner Babes say that they don’t like their planner, a lot of their frustration stems from not knowing their planner. Every planner has its own voice, but you have to discover it for yourself. By starting your planner journey with the basics, you’ll spend more time doing the things that you need to do. You will be able to discover what features of your life are most important and be able to tailor your purchases around that. If there’s sections of your planner that you don’t use, you’ll be able to purchase or create features that work better for you. If stickers aren’t something that you’re interested in, don’t buy them. If you don’t understand why people want a large variety of washi tape and don’t feel the need for it, then you don’t have to use it. Your planner journey is all about you and your needs. Other than the top three things listed, you truly do not need anything more than that. Do not let others tell you that you need to have stickers or you need to plan a certain way to succeed. Take your time.
Allowing yourself to start your planner journey at the bare minimum allows you to have a period of self-discovery. Take advantage of that time and become inspired.
